Successor of AE86 Finally Reveal :FT-86

The new successor of Toyota AE86 which is famous in anime and movie "Initial D" finally reveal to the public. The FT-86 concept car has been displayed in the 2009 Tokyo Motorshow and its will be revolutionise of Toyota sport car are going to look like. The car is really sporty and look awesome. This car might be cheaper compare to other sport car and super cars.
The wheelbase is compact actually, slightly shorter the latest model of Vios. The dimesnions of the FT-86 are 4160mm length, 1760mm width and 1260height with four seats much like Mazda RX-8. The successor of AE86 has 2.0 liter boxer engine mated to 6-speed manual transmission. The concept car is fitted with brakes from ADVICS, a JV company formed betwen AISIN SEIKI, DENSO, Sumitomo Electric and Toyota.
The engine of FT-86 is the D-4S Boxer. The D-4S Boxer is an advanced variant of Toyota's D-4 direct injection system. You might notice that the D-4D badging on Toyota Hilux pickup in their diesel direct injection. Then D-4 is basically the direct gasoline or petrol direct injection while D-4S is stand for D-4 Superior. In the system, D-4S combines both direct injection system with conventional port injection for each cylinder which result to 2 injectors for each cylinder and total of 8 injectors for 4 cylinders.
Glad to see that Toyota has kept their promise of a rear layout though it has been made easier by the absorption of Subaru into thier group. This FT-86 platform is 2570mm which is shorter than new generation Subaru Impreza but it is longer than the previous Impreza. Take a close view into the pictures of FT-86.
